Ministers congratulate Montague Intermediate school students on national video win

Education and Early Childhood Development

Montague Intermediate school students are to be congratulated on their success in the recent Parks Canada Coolest School Trip Contest, says Education Minister Alan McIsaac.

“With the help of their teacher, Ms. Megan Morrison, these Grade 8 students worked collaboratively to put together a very impressive video recreating the 1864 Charlottetown Conference and were named first place winners in this national contest,” said Minister McIsaac. “They were chosen first among many great class submissions from across the country and all students who participated, along with their teacher, should be congratulated on their hard work and creativity.”

With this win, the students of Ms. Morrison’s 8C class will now be traveling to Banff, Alberta in May for a Canadian Rockies adventure package. The trip will include visits to both Banff and Jasper National Parks.

Innovation and Advanced Learning Minister Allen Roach, MLA for Montague-Kilmuir, said the students are a credit to the community.

“By producing a video that shows such pride in their province and country, this group of students from Southeastern Kings County are showing how Islanders value education and strive for excellence,” said Minister Roach.

The winning video and all submitted videos can be viewed at www.myparkspass.ca or www.monpasseportparcs.com.
