Statement from Honourable H. Frank Lewis, Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island on the death of Honourable Gilbert R. Clements

I wish to extend my sympathies and express my sadness to Mrs. Wilma Clements, her family and our Island community on the passing of the Honourable Gilbert Clements. His many years of public service were marked by hard work, dedication to family and community, and his forward-thinking approach.
The Honourable Gilbert Clements was accomplished in many walks of life from his various business interests, community leadership, his church, a lengthy political career, certainly as Lieutenant Governor, and in his hobbies, the best known of which was his photography. His impact in environmental issues will be long remembered.
On behalf of the Vice-Regal community and my wife, Dorothy, I offer deep and sincere condolences to Mr. Clements’ family, community and friends.
