The Prince Edward Island Securities Office seeks temporary cease-trade order against Paul Edward Maines, Capital Markets Technologies, Inc., and 7645686 Canada Inc.

Staff of the Prince Edward Island Securities Office has filed a motion requesting a temporary cease-trade order against Paul Edward Maines, Capital Markets Technologies, Inc., 7645686 Canada Inc. carrying on business as “Financial Market Technologies” and “Trinity Bay Technologies.” Staff is requesting that the temporary order remain in place pending the completion of their investigation. The motion will be heard at a hearing scheduled for March 7, 2013.

The purpose of the hearing is to determine whether a temporary cease-trade order should be issued.

The purpose of Prince Edward Island securities laws is to provide protection to investors from unfair, improper or fraudulent practices, and to foster fair and efficient capital markets and confidence in capital markets.
