Annual Police Oversight Conference to be held in Charlottetown

The Canadian Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement (CACOLE), a national non-profit organization, is pleased to announce that this year’s conference will be held in Charlottetown, PEI. The 2013 CACOLE Conference will take place May 27-29, at the Rodd Charlottetown Hotel. The Conference will bring together participants from across Canada and around the world to discuss a variety of topics, trends and perspectives in the area of civilian oversight of police.

CACOLE was established in 1997 with the aim of advancing the concept, principles and application of civilian oversight of law enforcement throughout Canada and abroad. The organization is comprised of individuals and agencies involved in the oversight of police officers in Canada. Members represent provincial and federal oversight agencies, municipal and provincial police boards and commissions, First Nations, ombudsman's offices, police associations and professional standards bureaus as well as organizations in the justice, rights and advocacy agencies.
