Tourism and Culture
“The PEI Public Library Service, the PEI Breast Cancer Information Partnership, and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Atlantic Region have partnered to select and purchase a variety of books and materials with information about breast cancer,” said Minister Henderson. “The PEI Public Library Service continues to play an important role in providing all Islanders access to important and reliable information, in various formats and at no cost.”
The Prince Edward Island Breast Cancer Resources Collection includes three sets of collections. There are 52 resources in each collection, which were funded by CBCF - Atlantic Region. The PEI Public Library Service purchased 13 e-books as well.
"We are very pleased to have been able to collaborate with both the PEI Public Library Service and the PEI Breast Cancer Information Partnership in the purchase of this new collection of books,” said Jennifer Perry, board member for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Atlantic Region. “Our hope is that these books will enable breast cancer patients to make informed decisions. Equally important, their families, friends and supporters will have access to information to help them better understand the disease and the importance of their role in the journey.”
The collection can be accessed through any of Prince Edward Island’s 26 public libraries. For more information on these resources or other library programs, please visit www.library.pe.ca .
