The Province of Prince Edward Island is pleased with the continued success and growth of Invesco, says Premier Robert Ghiz.

“Invesco is an example of an international company achieving great success via its Prince Edward Island office,” said Premier Ghiz. “Since locating to Prince Edward Island in 2007, Invesco has been a great employer and we look forward to their continued growth in our province.”

Invesco Ltd., a leading independent global investment management firm operating in more than 20 countries with over 6,000 employees, came to Prince Edward Island in order to establish one of its global enterprise centres. The provincial government supports Invesco through Innovation PEI’s Innovation and Development Labour Rebate Program.

Premier Ghiz and Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning Allen Roach met with Invesco’s senior leadership team this week to congratulate the company on hiring 250 Islanders, as well as to discuss future growth on Prince Edward Island.

“We continue to be extremely pleased with our operation in Prince Edward Island,” said Adam Runge, Vice President, Invesco Enterprise Services. “In just a few short years our office here in PEI has become a highly relevant part of our global operation supporting internal and external clients around the world. Over time we have continued to diversify the roles we are performing on the island and remain impressed with the overall performance of our team.

“Invesco continues to recruit employees from our province’s post-secondary institutions and educated workforce,” said Minister Roach. “It presents an invaluable opportunity to grow financial services in our province. Having companies such as Invesco in PEI inspires Islanders to gain employment in the industry here at home, while discouraging the migration of labour to other centres in North America.”

The Government of Prince Edward Island remains committed to supporting private sector growth which leads to jobs for Islanders and local economic enhancement.
