Welcoming the leaders of tomorrow

Education and Early Childhood Development

Over 600 youth and 200 leadership advisors from across the country are gathering in Prince Edward Island this week for the 29th annual Canadian Student Leadership Conference, says Innovation and Advanced Learning Minister Allen F. Roach.

“The Canadian Student Leadership Conference is a wonderful event, designed to help inspire our young people and build up the next generation of Canadian leaders,” said Minister Roach. “I commend the youth and leadership from Montague High School for all of their work and preparations for hosting this tremendous event. I hope that each of the participants enjoys the conference, learns lots and makes lasting friendships. You are the leaders of tomorrow, and tomorrow starts today!”

“It is wonderful to host this year’s national conference here in Prince Edward Island and it is very encouraging to see so many outstanding student leaders gathering together to share ideas and learn from one another,” said Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Alan McIsaac. “I would like to thank the students for their involvement in Student Government and for becoming great ambassadors of our Education system.”

Innovation PEI and the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development are proud to be sponsoring the 2013 Conference. Montague Regional High School is hosting the Conference from September 17 to September 21, 2013, and billet families from the community will house the over 600 youth participants.

The mission of the Canadian Student Leadership Conference is to promote and develop student leadership within Canadian high schools. They aim to motivate, prepare and empower Canadian students for present and future leadership in their schools, activities, workplaces and communities – locally, nationally and globally.
