CGI targets expansion in Stratford

Innovation PEI

Serving clients around the world and contributing to the economy of PEI

CGI continues to grow in PEI with intentions to create up to 300 positions within three years at its Stratford location, with help from the Government of Prince Edward Island, says Allen Roach, Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning.

“CGI has been an important employer in Prince Edward Island’s information and communications industry and it is exciting to see this company poised for further growth,” said Minister Roach. “Islanders and newcomers will be able to find opportunity at this growing company.”

CGI (TSX: GIB.A; NYSE: GIB) currently employs 80 people in Prince Edward Island. Immediate job opportunities are available for project managers, business analysts, testing professionals, application developers and support specialists.

“We continue to see our Stratford PEI location as a strategic part of our network of North American Delivery Centres,” says Mike Rogers, a Director of Operations within CGI’s PEI office.

Innovation PEI, Prince Edward Island’s leading economic development agency, is supporting the planned expansion with a recruitment/training allowance of $5,000 for every job in excess of 100 jobs at CGI’s Prince Edward Island centre.

“Prince Edward Island has proven to be a great place to do business for CGI,” said Jay MacIsaac, Senior Vice-president at CGI Inc. “CGI operates 12 North American Centres delivering high quality IT services to global clients allowing for cost efficient service delivery to our clients and economic development for our communities.”
