The winning poster of the Salon du livre de l’Île-du-Prince Édouard poster contest has been unveiled! Inspired by the theme of the event “S’ouvrir aux mondes” (opening ourselves up to the world), the design chosen by the public, via Facebook votes, was created by Ms. Lynne Morneault’s class from École Pierre-Chiasson in the French Language School Board.

Congratulations to all these young creators, who will receive a selection of books next June, written by the guest authors of the first edition of the Salon du livre de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard.

“We want to thank all the classes who participated in the contest and all those who voted on our Facebook page,” said Lucille Fontaine, chair of the organizing committee. “From an organizational perspective, we have started confirming our programming and guest authors, and our event is beginning to take form, thanks to the generosity of businesses and organizations supporting our initiative. Everything is falling into place to ensure this first book fair is a true literary gathering for the whole family!”

The event will be held from June 5-7, 2014 at the Centre Belle-Alliance in Summerside, with activities taking place in various regions of the Island.
