Consul General of Japan visits Prince Edward Island

Premier's Office

As a follow-up to Prince Edward Island’s trade and post-secondary education mission to Japan in early February, Consul General of Japan at Montreal Tatsuo Arai will visit Prince Edward Island on Monday, says Premier Robert Ghiz.

“Our province sincerely appreciates the prompt efforts and enthused engagement of the Consul General,” said Premier Ghiz. “It has been less than two months since we traveled to Japan to explore new economic development opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships. To have the Consul General visit our province to see first-hand all that Prince Edward Island has to offer to Japan is an incredible opportunity for Island businesses and post-secondary institutions.”

During his visit, Consul General Tatsuo Arai will visit private sector companies interested in expanding into the Japanese market, participate in a post-secondary luncheon, tour a local seafood plant, as well as engage in meetings with both Premier Robert Ghiz and Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning Allen Roach.
