United States Consul General for Atlantic Canada Richard H. Riley is visiting Prince Edward Island this week, says Premier Robert Ghiz.

“It is a pleasure to have Mr. Riley visit Prince Edward Island to further explore opportunities for collaboration between our great province and the United States of America,” said Premier Ghiz. “The United States is both our province’s, and our country’s, largest trading partner and continues to be a primary focus for our existing business and future growth. Having Mr. Riley here to tour Island businesses and post-secondary institutions is a visible sign that our governments are always working towards furthering our partnership and strengthening our cross-border ties.”

During his visit, Consul General Riley will travel across Prince Edward Island from North Cape to Morell. Mr. Riley will tour several Island businesses including Vector Aerospace, 3 Points Aviation, Prince Edward Aqua Farms and PEI Mussel King. He will also meet with representatives of Holland College, the Atlantic Veterinary College, the Mi’kmaq Confederacy of Prince Edward Island, and the provincial government.

The Government of Prince Edward Island shares a long-standing partnership with the United States in areas including trade, investment, immigration, tourism and education.
