Howard Drake, British High Commissioner to Canada, makes an official visit to Prince Edward Island this week, says Premier Robert Ghiz.

High Commissioner Drake visits P.E.I. with a focus on the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement.

“Our government and industries are enjoying an opportunity to learn more about what the agreement means for Islanders, as well as the opportunity to showcase a sample of what our province has to offer the European market,” said Premier Ghiz.

During his two-day visit on the Island, the British High Commissioner will visit companies in the seafood and agriculture sectors in rural Prince Edward Island, as well as meet with provincial ministers and deputy ministers connected to the Canada-European Agreement.

High Commissioner Drake was appointed in June 2013. He previously served as British High Commissioner to both Jamaica and the Bahamas, as well as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Chile.
