Upgrades and improvements at The Guild will better serve patrons and performers

Fisheries, Aquaculture and Rural Development

Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (ACOA), and PEI Fisheries, Aquaculture and Rural Development Minister Ron MacKinley today announced federal and provincial funding for ARS LONGA Inc., the operating body of the arts and cultural centre known as The Guild.

The Guild is located in the heart of Charlottetown on the corner of Richmond and Queen Streets. The facility accommodates both established and budding artists with its 150 seat theatre, a 630 square foot gallery, administrative offices and additional offices for rent by the local arts community.

Quick Facts:

• The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Business Development Program, contributed $71,201 to ARS LONGA Inc. for the recently completed theatre upgrades.

• The Provincial Government, through the Department of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Rural Development has invested $12,400 in this project.

• ARS LONGA Inc. is a non-profit organization guided by a Board of Directors; The Guild, is managed daily by an Executive Director.

• Work carried out at the facility included theatre and dressing room improvements, lighting and projection upgrades, box office and concession space renovations, and network and website advances.
