New Harding Creek Road Bridge opens to traffic

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal

The $350,000 replacement of the Harding Creek Road Bridge in Clinton is now complete and the bridge is open to the traveling public, says Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Minister Robert Vessey.

“We are pleased to invest in the safety and efficiency of roads and bridges on Prince Edward Island,” Minister Vessey said. “Strategic investments like these not only improve safety, but help boost the economy in rural parts of the province.”

Construction of the project began in late May following a community information session in New London. The original bridge was built in 1974 and was identified for replacement as part of the department’s bridge inspection program.

Two more bridges will be replaced in 2014-15 in Rocky Point and Souris.
