The Public Library Service (PLS) will reach out to Islanders and promote its services with a new van called Library EnRoute that will attend events and busy locations all over the Island, says Minister of Tourism and Culture Robert Henderson.

“Library EnRoute is a great tool that allows Islanders to learn about all of the resources, programs and services available through the provincial Public Library Service, and a creative way for the PLS to promote libraries all over the Island,” said Minister Henderson. “PLS staff work very hard to instill a life-long love of reading and books, and to encourage improved literacy at all age levels. By using Library EnRoute to showcase our services we are able to connect with Islanders at various locations across the province and give them an opportunity to explore everything our libraries have to offer.”

Library EnRoute is equipped with a technology bar that includes wifi, lap top computers, e-readers, and tablets. People can use the devices to explore PLS resources and services. They can also sign up for a free library card, or speak with a PLS representative who can provide information and answer questions.
