Minister thanks Zubair Siddiqi for his commitment to the tourism industry

Tourism and Culture

The province will lose a tireless volunteer and tourism industry advocate when the current General Manager of The Delta Prince Edward Hotel moves to a new position in Ottawa later this month, says Minister of Tourism and Culture Robert Henderson.

“Zubair Siddiqi has made a tremendous contribution to the tourism industry on Prince Edward Island in a relatively short time,” said Minister Henderson. “He held volunteer positions on several boards and industry groups and worked very hard to promote and expand the industry on the Island. He was a guiding hand during the construction of the Prince Edward Island Convention Centre. His contributions were many and he leaves big shoes to fill. We wish him the best of luck in his new position.”

Mr. Siddiqi began at the Delta in 2010. He is the current Secretary of the Tourism Industry Association of Prince Edward Island Executive Committee. He is also Chair of the Board of Directors of Meetings and Conventions PEI and sits on the Tourism Advisory Council. He is the former Chair of the Hotel and Motel Association of Prince Edward Island and represented the province on the Hotel Association of Canada board of directors.

He is moving on to a new position as General Manager of the Delta Ottawa City Centre.
