Islanders asked to keep away from flooded areas

Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal

Islanders are asked to stay away from flooded areas as crews work to repair the damage caused by the significant rainfall.

The extent of damage is significant in some areas and poses a safety risk. Islanders are also reminded that removing barriers from the flooded areas not only puts their own lives at risk, but the lives of others. Crews are working hard to establish more permanent barriers in washed-out areas.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal is working to repair the damaged roads and structures as quickly as possible. Islanders can call 5-1-1 or visit www.511.gov.pe.ca for the latest updates on road conditions.
