Awareness Can Protect Public Against Telephone Scams

Follow these guidelines if you receive an unsolicited call from someone offering to help you with your debts:
• DON’T do business with them unless you know who they are and have their exact physical address.
• DON’T do business with them unless they are registered to do business in Prince Edward Island or have their head office in our province.
• GO TO www.gov.pe.ca/corporations/index.php or phone 368-4550 to find out if a company is registered to operate in Prince Edward Island.
• NEVER give out your credit card information to companies you don’t know who are offering to help you with your credit card debt.
