Three PEI Golf Courses Make Canada's Top 100 List

Tourism

The 2008 SCOREGolf awards, noting Canada’s Top 100 golf courses, ranked The Links at Crowbush Cove at number eight, Dundarave Golf Course at number 35 and Brudenell River Golf Course at 100. SCOREGolf is now the largest circulation golf publication in Canada.

The SCOREGolf Top 100 is compiled every two years and ranks the best courses in Canada. There are close to 90 panelists who rank golf courses for SCOREGolf Magazine. The panelists are requested to rank a minimum of 20 courses. There is an extensive list of questions on each course played, which includes everything from beauty, strategy, design and condition of the course. These questions are completed by the panel and an online system automatically tallies the rankings. There are approximately 2000 golf courses in Canada and each would be eligible for ranking.

“The Canadian golf industry is a very competitive market and it is a significant honour to have three Island courses among Canada’s Top 100,” said Valerie Docherty, Minister of Tourism. “The Department’s focus is to build awareness and interest in Prince Edward Island as a premier golf destination. It’s through recognition such as SCOREGolf’s annual awards that will continue to help our Island make its mark in the highly competitive golf destination business.”

In addition, other golf-related awards include The Links at Crowbush Cove being recognized as the third Top Conditioned Golf Course out of the Top 100, as well as The Rodd Crowbush Golf and Beach Resort receiving the number two award out of the Top 100 for Best Resort.
