“Emergency responders need to find your location quickly in an emergency,” said Hon. Carolyn Bertram, Minister of Communities, Cultural Affairs and Labour. “Replacing missing signs or signs that are in a deteriorated condition can help the emergency responder – police, ambulance or fire fighter – respond to your call for help.”

In rural communities, property owners are responsible to ensure white on blue civic number signs are in place. The Provincial standards for the recognizable white on blue reflective signs provide for consistencies of design and placement. Replacement civic number signs can be made by any local sign manufacturer who complies with Provincial standards.

Inquiries about civic number display requirements in the municipalities of Alberton, Borden-Carleton, Brackley, Charlottetown, Cornwall, Georgetown, Kensington, Kinkora, Miscouche, Montague, O'Leary, Souris, Stratford, Summerside, Tignish, Victoria and Wellington should be directed to the appropriate municipal office.
