“Cynthia Fleet is the new superintendent of the English Language School Board and Anne Bernard-Bourgeois has been appointed superintendent of the French Language School Board,” said Minister McIsaac. “We are pleased to welcome two strong and talented leaders who have great capacity to advance learning in our province and accelerate the development of a student-centred education system.”

Cynthia Fleet has held several senior management positions with the Newfoundland and Labrador School Board with district-wide responsibilities as Assistant Superintendent of Education, Human Resources Manager, Assistant Director of Education, and CEO of Education. Most recently, she was CEO of Education with the Nova Central School District. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and a Certificate in Business Administration and has more than 30 years of experience as a teacher and administrator.

The English Language School Board trustees welcome Ms. Fleet and look forward to working with her to meet exciting opportunities ahead in the new school board.

Ann Bernard-Bourgeois is first and foremost an educator, with significant experience in educational administration, management and professional development in New Brunswick as well as in Prince Edward Island. Originally from Prince Edward Island, she received her undergraduate degree from Laval University and her Master’s degree from the University of New Brunswick.

The French Language School Board is pleased to welcome Anne Bernard-Bourgeois back to the Island and to her new role with the board.
