Fisheries and aquaculture minister leads delegation to Boston seafood show

Innovation PEI

Seafood Expo North America (formerly the International Boston Seafood Show) provides a great opportunity to showcase the high quality and value of Island seafood products to buyers from around the world, says Minster of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Rural Development Ron MacKinley.

“The Boston seafood show provides Island seafood companies an international stage to promote their products, connect with existing customers, and develop new and expanded markets,” said Minister MacKinley.

Seafood Expo North America is the largest seafood trade event in North America, featuring more than 800 exhibitors and offering a vast array of seafood, seafood products, services and equipment from all over the world. More than 19,000 buyers, suppliers, media and other seafood professionals from over 100 countries attend the expo each year.

The Prince Edward Island seafood industry will be represented by approximately 100 participants involved both directly and indirectly in the seafood business such as seafood processors, brokers, equipment manufacturers, and representatives of fisheries and aquaculture organizations. The mission is being coordinated by Innovation PEI and the Department of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Rural Development.

“The Province of Prince Edward Island is pleased to work with fishers, processors and other industry representatives to continue to promote our products to markets around the world,” said Minister MacKinley. “I look forward to a successful mission for our Island delegation.”
