Invesco Ltd., a major Charlottetown employer in the financial services industry, is being supported in growing its Island workforce to 400 positions, says Allen Roach, Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning.

“Invesco Ltd. has been a stable and growing employer. This is a great opportunity for financial professionals and is proof that the Island has a workforce and business environment that can support the information-based companies with global operations,” said Minister Roach. “Global companies like Invesco Ltd. have found that Prince Edward Island is a perfect location from which they can serve customers anywhere. The Government of Prince Edward Island is committed to helping these companies create jobs and opportunities for our well-trained, reliable Island work force.”

Recently, the Government of Prince Edward Island approved payroll rebates, available until 2023, totalling over $4 million for Invesco Ltd., based on the company growing from 230 to 400 employees.

Seven years after its initial move to Charlottetown in 2008, Invesco Ltd. has become one of the area’s largest employers, with over 290 full-time permanent staff at the office. The company is a leading independent global investment management firm, dedicated to helping investors worldwide achieve their financial objectives. Invesco Ltd. provides a wide range of investment strategies and vehicles to clients around the world. Operating in more than 20 countries, the firm is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol IVZ. Invesco Ltd.’s Charlottetown office is a key global enterprise hub for the firm and offers Islanders progressive careers across a diversity of disciplines including customer service, information technology, accounting, finance and human resources.

“We are delighted to expand our operations in Charlottetown,” said Adam Runge, Senior Officer, Invesco Canada. “We are very proud of our team here and our experience has been nothing short of incredible. We have consistently met and exceeded all of our growth targets. Charlottetown continues to be a fantastic place to do business.”
