PEI 2014 Inc. is proud to present Burton Cummings at New Year’s Eve Finale 2014, the wrap up event to a year-long, province-wide celebration, at Credit Union Place in Summerside. New Year’s Eve Finale 2014 will also offer free family activities, including the PEI 2014 closing ceremonies and fireworks.

“We are delighted to hold the final event of this special anniversary year in Summerside and pleased to offer a program that will appeal to all ages,” says Tourism and Culture Minister, Robert Henderson. “We hope Islanders from tip to tip will join us as we look back at an incredible year of celebration at New Year’s Eve Finale 2014.”

The New Year’s Eve Finale 2014 Concert at Eastlink Arena will offer a showcase of the best in Canadian rock, traditional and country music. In addition to Cummings, the evening will feature a special reunion of East Coast icons The Rankin Family and country rockers Doc Walker.

"I am very pleased to see the final event of the 2014 Celebrations take place in the beautiful city of Summerside. New Year’s Eve is a great time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the celebration of Confederation in 2017,” said the Hon. Gail Shea, Egmont MP, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans.

Free family celebrations will provide a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The grounds of Credit Union Place will be transformed into a winter wonderland by specially illuminated ice sculptures created by Canada’s Ice Sculpting Team, buskers, and an outdoor stage featuring upbeat Island entertainers who will be sure to keep everyone moving and in a festive spirit. Indoor activities will include free skating, bowling, swimming, a children’s play zone with inflatables as well as face painting, balloon twisting and special children’s entertainment. The PEI 2014 closing ceremonies will include a special review of the past year’s celebrations and will be capped off with a stunning fireworks display.
