School Nutrition and Activity Project (SNAP)

The School Nutrition and Activity Project (SNAP) was a 5 year (2007-2012) project evaluating school nutrition policies in Prince Edward Island elementary and consolidated schools. This project assessed the effect of the policies on children's food intake and weight status, and also looking at what children, parents and staff think about the policy. The five years of funding came from the Canadian Institute of Health Research and the project leaders were Dr. Jennifer Taylor from UPEI and Dr. Paul Veugelers from the University of Alberta.
