Applying for a Job
How do I apply?You may apply online using the Jobs PEI website. Online applications are preferred. In order to apply online, you will need to create a profile the first time you log in, but once you have created a profile you can apply to competitions in seconds. Applications and/or resumés can also be mailed, faxed, dropped off, or e-mailed to the contact specified in the job posting.
You will need to submit an application and/or resume and cover letter for each job posting for which you apply. Please remember to quote the job posting ID number for which you are applying.
If I am interested in applying on more than one job posting, do I need to submit more than one resume?
I missed the deadline to apply, but would still like to have my application included. Can I still apply?Applications and/or resumés must be received on or before the time and closing date as indicated on the job posting /advertisement. You may contact the PEI Public Service Commission at 368-4080 and your application will be marked late.
Are there other job opportunities that are not advertised on the website?Applications are received for casual/temporary lists in certain work areas and professions. If you would like to apply to be part of a particular employment list, simply submit a hard copy application form to our office specifying the type of work that you’re interested in. These applications are kept on file for one year and applicants are contacted for an interview when they meet the qualifications and where there is a demand within the workforce.
Some examples of the lists include: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Resident Care Workers, Personal Care Worker, Service Workers (dietary / housekeeping / laundry), Administrative Support, Clerical Support, Medical Secretary, Correctional Officers, Youth Workers, Social Workers, etc.
