This series consists of correspondence between Chief Justice Thane A. Campbell and court officials, private individuals, members of government(s), organizations, and businesses. These files, which span the years 1937 to 1970, are arranged alphabetically by the name of the correspondent and chronologically within each letter. Also included are some individual files for specific correspondents or topics.
These documents focus on personal and judicial matters as well as dealings with the various organizations Campbell was associated with such as the American Association for State and Local History, Dalhousie University, the Rhodes Scholarship program, and St. Dunstan's University. Topics discussed include: curling; individuals up for parole; questions of law; rules of court; bankruptcy cases; chancery requests; estate cases; and requests for letters of recommendation, financial assistance, leniency for defendants, and employment.
