Biographical history
Violet Evelyn Goldsmith Brown, the daughter of Rev. John Goldsmith and Anna Wright, was born in 1881 in Tyne Valley, Prince Edward Island. She graduated from Prince of Wales College in 1900 and then taught for several years in communities in New Brunswick. She later lived in Saskatchewan and possibly Alberta. She married a Mr. Brown with whom she had five children. She died in 1965.

Scope and content
This collection consists of a microfilm copy of the diary of Violet Goldsmith dated 7 June 1900 to 15 March 1906. It contains accounts of daily activities in the Goldsmith household, Violet's teaching experiences, and her trip to England in May 1901. Also included are biographical notes on Rev. John Goldsmith and Anna Goldsmith as well as 8 post cards and photographs depicting Prince of Wales College, St. Paul's Church, and St. Peter's Cathedral.
