Burgess, Marian Victoria "Queenie"
Biographical history
Marian Victoria "Queenie" Burgess Peake, daughter of John Baker Burgess, was born in January 1887 in Swansea, England. In 1910, Marian came to Prince Edward Island. She lived with her sister Francis May and her brother-in-law Charles Wright in their home in Charlottetown and worked as a private nurse. Marian married Ernest DeBlois Peake (son of George Ellis Peake and Alice Rebecca DeBlois) on 7 February 1912 at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Charlottetown. Ernest had three children from his first marriage to Adelaide Wiggins (d. 1909): Cyril, Vera, and Charles (Bentley). Marian and Ernest had three children of their own: James, Ralph, and Elizabeth. On 14 June 1952, Ernest died at their home at 5 Grafton Street. Marian died in 1956 and was buried with her husband in the Sherwood Cemetery.

Biographical history
Frances May Burgess (b. May 1885) married Charles Wright (b. December 1875) in England and they immigrated to Canada in 1901. The couple lived on Brighton Road in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and had four children: Muriel, Marjorie, Barbara, and Robert. Barbara married Stan Burnwash in 1937.

Scope and content
The fonds contains a scrapbook kept by Marian Victoria "Queenie" Burgess Peake between 1901 and 1907. The scrapbook contains clippings, watercolour sketches, and quotes which have been copied into the book. Some loose newspaper clippings, a couple of postcards, and a negative of an unidentified woman are also tucked inside the scrapbook. The fonds also contains a letter written by Barbara Burwash (daughter of Charles Wright and Frances May Burgess; neice of Marion Burgess Peake) to a Mrs. J. Peake in Charlottetown in 2002. The letter contains genealogical information about the Burgess family.
