This subseries consists of correspondence, financial records, and official court documents relating to the Chancery Court case between the heirs of Andrew Macdonald and the heirs of Angus Campbell and which span the years 1806 to 1856. Included are letters between the lawyers of both parties, between the Macdonalds and their lawyers conveying their wishes for actions taken, and between the Macdonald or their lawyers and court officials. The official court documents include subpoenas, chancery costs, lists of papers received in relation to the case, affidavits, petitions, notices of motion, decrees, and legal opinions. Financial papers include bills from the Chancery Court itself as well as lawyers bills. The subseries also contains papers relating to the sale of Panmure Island. The subseries is arranged in chronological order.
