Mellick, Henry George

Biographical history

Henry George Mellick was born in 1857 at Elmira, Prince Edward Island, the son of John and Ann (Rose) Mellick. He attended Acadia and McMaster Universities, and studied divinity at Morgan Park College in Manitoba in preparation for the Baptist ministry. After serving for several years in the western missions in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Rev. Mellick returned to Nova Scotia in 1909 where he held several charges until his retirement in 1921. He also served at various times thorughout his career in Murray Harbour, Alberton, and O'Leary. Rev. Mellick was married to Frances Elizabeth Wallace. He died in Hantsport, N.S. in October 1936.

The fonds contains published works by Rev. Mellick entitled TIMOTHY'S BOYHOOD and JESUS TEACHING PRAYER, a stereo card of market square in Charlottetown, 1899, and a page of newspaper clippings re. wedding anniversary, and death of Rev. Mellick.
