Biographical history
Hugh Allister Macdonald was born on 1 December 1912 in Georgetown, Prince Edward Island to Hugh Allister Macdonald (1878-1961) and Elizabeth MacPhee (1879-1968). Hugh served overseas during World War II and died on 8 October 1944 in Belgium.

The subseries consists of two letters from Hugh Allister "Boysie" Macdonald to his sisters (1941), as well as part of an undated letter to an unknown recipient. The subseries also contains letter (1945) regarding a war memorial for fallen Canadian soldiers in Beligum.
