Biographical history
Edith Marjorie (Madge) Smith was born in England in 1898 but spent most of her life in Fredericton, New Brunswick. She spent six years working with Frank Pridham of Harvey Studios Ltd. in Fredericton. Much of her work (1275 negatives held at the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick) show her interest in the city of Fredericton and of life in New Brunswick in general. Madge Smith passed away early in 1974.

Scope and content
This fonds consists of 11 photographs taken from the late Madge Smith's photo collection. The majority of these images are of the fishing industry and some are identified as being of the Rustico area, Prince Edward Island. One other identified photo is of Lieutenant-Governor Bradford William LePage inspecting the troops on Grafton St., Charlottetown. Three photographs are of Cavendish, including two of the "Green Gables" house and farm and one of a road in Cavendish possibly, the road leading from School Hill to Laird's Hill.
