Miriam Mae Profitt Dewar (1910-1992) fulfilled many roles during her life, including: wife of Robert Dewar, mother of Diane and Katherine, Canadian Girls in Training leader, Red Cross volunteer, Division and Provincial Commissioner of the Girl Guides of Canada, executive member of the Progressive Conservative Women’s Group, manager of the P.C. campaign headquarters, Constituency Secretary to Dr. O. H. Philips, M.P., deputy Sheriff, Sheriff and founding member of the Summerside United Way. This series contains materials which belonged to Miriam Mae Profitt Dewar and reflect her personal and occupational interests. They include scrapbooks and diaries, school notes, a photo album, some loose photos, greeting cards and correspondence (personal and professional), as well as a scrapbook and journal kept by her mother, Mary Maude Bernard Profitt. The series also includes some original records relating to Robert Dewar.
