Administrative history
The Order of the Eastern Star is a fraternal order dedicated to charity, truth and loving kindness, founded by Brother Robert Morris, A.F.A.M., open to master masons and their wives and families. Crystal Chapter # 1, the Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, branch of the Order was organized in 1921. As well as conducting ritualistic meetings, the Chapter organized social activities such as teas, bridge parties, suppers and bazaars, bake sales, etc. from which the proceeds went to various local, national and international charitable causes.

The fonds consists of the original minute books of the Chapter dating from June 1931 to September 1994 as well as microfilm copies of the same and which also including minutes dating from 20 September 1994 until November 2005.
