This series contains records pertaining to Erica Rutherford's various careers in the theatre and film industries, including acting, producing, set design, and puppet design.The series contains programs and reviews for plays in which Erica was involved, as well as set designs, costume designs, and photographs. There is also one notebook (ca.1940-1971) listing Erica's various theatre activities, as well as a 1976 "Sunday Times Magazine" special issue about the ENSA Entertainers at War during World War II.
Film-related files include photographs from the children’s film "The Mystery of the Snakeskin Belt" and correspondence and photographs relating to "The Telegoons" BBC television program. The series also contains correspondence, contracts, promotional material, reviews, and two negatives relating to the film "Jim Comes to Jo'burg", the first all-black South African musical film produced by Erica in 1949.
