Lieutenant Governor offers congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Lieutenant Governor's Office

Their Honours the Honourable H. Frank Lewis and Dorothy Lewis extend their congratulations to their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their daughter, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, Her Royal Highness the Princess of Cambridge.

“On behalf of the people of Prince Edward Island, we express our joy and happiness and our sincere congratulations to the Royal Family,” said His Honour. “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the entire Royal Family are deeply admired and respected by the people of this province. With the arrival of its newest member, the Royal Family has been further enriched and enlivened.”

An online book of congratulations has been established by the Governor General. Islanders wishing to convey their best wishes to the Royal couple can locate and sign the book at www.gov.pe.ca/olg.

Their Honours are personally sending gifts on behalf of Prince Edward Islanders to the Royal Family to acknowledge the birth of Her Royal Highness the Princess of Cambridge. Princess Charlotte will receive a woolen blanket from MacAusland’s Woolen Mills in Bloomfield, PEI. Included will be a wooden ferry boat and cars from The Toy Factory in New Glasgow for big brother Prince George, who was given a MacAusland’s woolen blanket and a children’s version of Anne of Green Gables after he was born.

It is suggested that individuals who wish to further acknowledge the birth of the Princess of Cambridge with a gift do so in Her Royal Highness’s honour with a contribution to a children’s charity of your choice.
