Island fruit growers explore new product opportunities with a workshop for fruit producers

The workshop will feature presentations by Chris Jordan, Berry Crop Development Officer/Provincial Apiarist of the Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture; Yaw Dako, Food Safety/Quality Specialist at BIO|FOOD|TECH; and Esther Lee, a Food Scientist with BIO|FOOD|TECH. Topics include the steps involved in the fruit drying process, quality assurance practices, an overview of the regulations involved in preparing a dried product for sale and a step-by-step training session covering all aspects of the fruit drying process.
