This subseries consists of the primarily hand-written volumes containing the Public Accounts kept by the Colonial/Provincial Treasurer of Prince Edward Island. The Treasurer was required to present these documents to the Legislature during its first week of sitting. These records are very similar to the Treasurer's Account Books. They are arranged by division or subject and include both receipts and expenditures. The warrant numbers are given in a group on the left page, opposite an explanation of the activities they were issued for and the total amount. The Public Accounts were originally published as appendices in the Legislative Assembly journals and were later published individually. Volume 25 is a published volume for the year ending 31 March 1979.
